AMS Hearing

July 27, 2023  6:00 – 8:00

SEPTA Roberts Complex

Air Management Services (AMS) will hold a virtual public hearing about the pending application by the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) to renew its operating permit for the Roberts Complex in Nicetown on Thursday, July 27, 2023 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.  This permit provides the terms under which SEPTA will be allowed to continue operating a gas-fired power plant in this environmental justice (EJ) community.

This hearing is an inflection point for EJ community cohesion, for the relationships between the City and the public it serves, for the relationships between SEPTA and the customers it serves, for the health of people in Nicetown, for resistance to the dominance of the fossil fuel industry, for the ways we do things in Philadelphia.  AMS is engaging with the EJ community to identify and employ, to the extent possible, best practices for meaningful public participation in the permitting processes.  Please be involved.

To attend the hearing, register on Zoom at

To provide testimony at the hearing, send an email to DPHAMS_Service_Requests@Phila.Gov

To obtain information and provide feedback about hearing procedures, an ASC survey will be available soon.
